Overview

Providence Café Search lets you query 110 Providence cafés in plain language — "a quiet café for studying," "somewhere with good espresso and outlets" — and returns the closest matches, ranked by what reviewers actually say.

How it works

• Builds a profile for each café from its reviews and embeds both the profiles and the user's query with OpenAI embeddings.
• Retrieves candidates with FAISS nearest-neighbor search over the embedding space.
• Re-ranks results with sentiment-aware weighting and a top-K attention-pooling step so the most relevant, positively-reviewed cafés rise to the top.
